Long Live the New Flesh!

videodrome
So I just finished watching a movie called Videodrome and I must say it is one of the weirdest most confusing movies I ever seen. Where to begin, It stars James Woods as a cable tv operator who broadcasts a wide range of pornography for their viewers. He stumbles across a sattelite feed that is showing a snuff scene. He thinks this is really interesting, and he wants to broadcast it on his channel. This is where the fun begins (as well as my confused state of mind). Somehow the feed causes a brain tumor which leads to hallucinations which eventually lead you into some sort of twisted reality where nothing is as it seems. It's directed by David Cronenberg, who if you didn't know is known to display vile and diseased scenes mixed in with glimpses of our society and it's future path. The only other movie I seen by him was eXistenZ, which was another mind bender that breaks the reality barrier and isn't afraid to show the grossest things ever. It actually kept me interested in it, so I'd still recommend it for those that are curious. **1/2
